I’m Dr. Brittany Wolfe, ND and I am elated to be a part of a paradigm shift in healthcare.

I am a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Boucher Campus) located in the scenic British Columbia. My previous studies focused on healthcare through a sociological lens aiming to understand how our access to healthcare shifts depending upon our social determinants.

Although I had a passion for gender, health, autonomy and sustainability, I did not foresee myself landing in the role of a healthcare provider. I did not yet realize that, at the intersection of my passions, was naturopathic medicine offering a unique lens through which to view healthcare. I also did not realize that naturopathic medicine held the answers to my personal health journey. Slowly and then wholly, I fell in love with the intricacies of the human body and with its innate intelligence. I became enamoured by the wealth of knowledge held within botanical medicine and the potency of a single acupuncture needle. 

Through this medicine, I learned that my body already knew the way to health but I had an active role in my journey; I had to provide it with the necessary tools to thrive. Not only did naturopathic medicine teach me how to trust my body but also how to befriend it. I am privileged and honoured to practice in a career that allows others to do the same.

When I was an aspiring naturopathic doctor, I was in awe of my supervisors who had the balance of logos and eros, east and west, yin and yang; they knew the standard of care in medicine and were sure to reach it but they could also extend beyond the physical with their patients. They were comfortable assessing blood work, ordering specialized tests and reading the most up to date research. They were also comfortable discussing the mental/emotional/spiritual aspects of a dis-ease state, placing acupuncture points to alleviate stagnation and offering the nervous system the medicine that it really needed to make a shift. This is the naturopathic doctor that I strive to become each day.

As a student of the human body for life, I am currently further expanding my knowledge on the nervous system, chronic pelvic pain and disordered eating patterns. When I am not playing with herbs, you can find me basking in nature, playing with my pets, resting or trying out a new recipe in the kitchen. 

I am a member in good standing with the Saskatchewan Association of Naturopathic Doctors and am also pleased to be in the role of the Registrar.

Botanical Medicine is perhaps the modality that best embodies the bridging of ancient traditions with modern medicine. Use of botanical medicines should be skillful, mindful and intentional as their healing power is immense and their gifts should not be wasted.

Chinese Medicine

Chinese medicine helps us understand how the season, our food and our disposition affects our everyday health. It also provides insight on diagnosis just by the appearance of your tongue and the rhythm of your pulses. Often a persons’ Chinese medicine pattern mirrors their conventional diagnoses but it offers a different lens to view pathology and therefore a different and sometimes more appropriate treatment. I personally believe that Chinese medicine provides much important insight in the realm of women’s health.

Offerings:

  • Acupuncture for hormonal balance, stress and anxiety, insomnia, gastrointestinal issues

  • Healing foods according to your specific Chinese medicine pattern

  • Seasonal lifestyle and dietary advice as per the five element theory

  • Use of traditional Chinese herbs as needed

Food is a powerful medicine. Most everybody has some curiosity around food, diet and the “best diet for me.” I believe that the “ideal” diet is the most variable diet and is often informed by the season, our geography, our intolerances and our culture. Sometimes we need to temporarily remove foods in order to better determine the effect they have on our individual bodies. Rest assured, your journey with establishing your ideal diet will be well-thought out, rooted in self-compassion and created with the goal to get you eating as many foods as your body desires as quickly as we can.

Offerings:

  • Identifying food sensitivities, food intolerances and allergies

  • Tips and tricks to use everyday foods as medicine 

  • Education and encouragement of a whole foods diet

  • Recipes and resources

  • Tips on how to eat well on a budget

  • How to establish embodied eating practices

In conjunction with the above, I also utilize craniosacral therapy, evidence-based supplements and nutrients, and pelvic floor work as needed.
